Ceremonial Severance

Two crowned figures lie open across a diptych, each figure reclines as a sarcophagus-body. Crowned necks and the laying of beaks gesture toward the absence of a head. These bodies are not destroyed; they are born severed, already crowned in the absence of their heads, for there is no original to return to.
